Melissa Welsh is a national award-winning photographer who operates a 1600 sqft studio in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She has been creating photographs for clients across the country for 17 years and recently won the Best Industrial Photograph in Canada (2016). She is a fun, free-spirited individual with a deep love for adventure. Her work can be found in private collections around the world as well as in regional, national, and international publications.
Her client list includes: CBC, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Kootenay Rockies Tourism, Westworld, BC Business, Climbing, Kootenay Mountain Culture and Explore Magazine.
Her photograph “Wishing for Wind” scored an Excellence in the 2013 PPOC Image Competition and went on to win the Best Pictorial Photograph in Canada and was accepted into the PPOC 2013 Loan Collection. Melissa is a committed volunteer and dedicates much of her time promoting positive change in the photography industry. In the past few years she has served as the B.C. President of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), the Communications Chair for the PPOC and is currently the chair of the PPOC Island Branch.
